Introducing the No Accessory Crunchy Icon Oatmeal Cookie

You know, and I know, there are as many oatmeal cookie recipes in the world today as there are fields of oats.

As for me, I like a crunchy oatmeal cookie with no accessories – including raisins, chocolate chips, walnuts or whatever you might add.

Thanks to the Better Homes and Gardens New Cookbook, I found a no-frills oatmeal. And, with a couple of my own twists, created the No Accessory Crunchy Icon Oatmeal Cookie.

The original recipe says you’ll end with 54 cookies. Since I like large cookies, my alterations ended with 24 cookies.

Way too much fun!

That's Thyane Bricker watching you with binoculars while sitting on Sarah Bricker's (his mom) lap. This fun photo was taken in March during muffins with mom's day at Bluffton Community Preschool. Watch for more photos like this one soon. (Linda Headings photos)

2016 village sidewalk program will begin soon

Spring is here and the 2016 village sidewalk program will begin in the next two weeks – weather permitting.

Bluffton council’s streets, alleys, lights and sidewalk committee, meeting on March 29, recommended several items to be on the council’s Monday night agenda.

Among those is a statement in the committee meeting minutes stating that reminder letters for the west side of the village will be sent out by April 6.

It was also noted that the village is finishing up some items on the village east side.
