Community meal Feb. 29 in Pandora

The Pandora United Methodist Church will be hosting a free community meal on Wednesday, Feb. 29. The meal is from 5:30 to 7 p.m. in the church felliowship hall, 108 E. Washington St., Pandora. The menu will be baked potato bar, chili, cake, coffee and punch.

Food boxes available for those in need in the P-G school district

In an effort to help relieve some of the hardship and financial difficulty of the depressed economy in the Pandora and Gilboa area, the churches of Pandora and the Gilboa United Methodist are offering food boxes on the last Saturday of every month for households in the Pandora-Gilboa school district that find themselves in need.

The boxes are designed to provide nine meals (3 breakfasts, 3 lunches, and 3 dinners) for a family of four.

Pandora United Methodist Feb. 24 spaghetti dinner for mission trip

A spaghetti dinner will be served Friday, Feb. 24 from 4-6 p.m. at the Pandora United Methodist Church. The dinner will include spaghetti, garlic bread, salad, beverages, and dessert. Tickets are $6 each.

Tickets may be purchased at Riley Creek Pharmacy in Pandora or from Pandora United Methodist Youth. Proceeds will benefit the Mission Work Camp to White Oak, Tennessee, in June.

Red Cross blood drive Feb. 2 at Pandora United Methodist Church

The Pandora United Methodist Church will host an America Red Cross blood drive from 1 to 6 p.m., Thursday, Feb. 2. The church is located at 108 E. Washington St., Pandora.

To schedule an appointment, call the Red Cross at 419-523-4810 or visit redcrossblood.org and enter sponsor code: PANDORAUMC.

The Pandora United Methodist Church will host a free community meal on Wednesday, Jan. 25 from 5:30 to 7 p.m. in the church fellowship hall, 108 E. Washington St. Pandora.

The menu will be: Tomato soup, grilled cheese sandwich, relish tray, dessert and coffee/punch.
 

Food box collection underway in Pandora

In an effort to help relieve some of the hardship and financial difficulty of the depressed economy in the Pandora and Gilboa area, the churches of the Pandora and Gilboa area are offering food boxes on the last Saturday of every month for households in the Pandora-Gilboa School district that find themselves in need.

In order to pick up a box, you must register by 5 p.m. on Monday, Jan. 16, by calling 419-384-3905. Leave name , address, and phone number.

The Curling Iron accepting donations for the Sleeping Bag Project

Carolyn Scott of Pandora recognized a need and she acted. Now, thanks to her efforts the Pandora United Methodist Church developed the “Sleeping Bag Project.”

The project is a local response to the growing problem of homelessness close to home and across the United States.

In brief, the project provides sleeping bags to local agencies that house homeless persons thanks for donations from area residents, organizations and businesses. One Bluffton business, The Curling Iron, N. Main St., is accepting donations as it participates in the project.
