Apollo Career Center, 3325 Shawnee Road, Lima will hold its 26th annual Christmas at Apollo Craft Show Saturday, Dec. 5, 9 a.m.-3 p.m.

Admission is $2, children 12 and under are free. The proceeds from the craft show are divided among the Apollo student clubs to fund community service projects and assist students competing at state and national competitions.

One of the largest shows in the region, Apollo Career Center hosts over 100 crafters.

Nick Earl, craft show supervisor, encourages crafters to get their registrations in now.

The Allen County Bike and Pedestrian Task Force will hold a volunteer recognition lunch on November 18 at the Lima YMCA, Room 306, from 12:00 – 1:00.  Volunteers will be recognized for their contribution to assisting with bike and pedestrian counts, bike rodeos, and their work towards supporting a bike and pedestrian friendly community.  Recognition will be given for the following categories:  Safety educator of the year, advocate of the year, business of the year, and corporate volunteer.

Participants in the fourth annual Giving Tuesday—a global initiative to encourage charitable giving amid holiday consumerism—can, for the second year, direct their generosity to Bluffton University on Tuesday, Dec. 1.

Mennonite Home Communities of Ohio provides a monthly support group for caregivers. 

The group meets on the third Monday of each month, except December, from 3:30-4:30 pm. The group meets in the library at Mennonite Memorial Home, 410 W. Elm St., Bluffton.

Bluffton council voted on Monday to have a ground-penetrating radar (GPR) scan made of the Shannon Cemetery.

The action took place following Nate Ulrey’s report to council on the status of the Shannon Cemetery Commission.

Ulrey, speaking for himself and not the commission, told council that he would like to see the council take over the cemetery discussion.

“I want the council to take this back. I would like to see it move forward and I feel that it (the discussion) has gone on long enough,” he said.
