Elaine Suderman, Karen Kussmaul and Denise Fett are the October winners in the Bluffton downtown 3/50 Project.
They win an assortment of prizes from participating businesses as a result of their entry forms being picked in a random drawing.
Bluffton’s 3/50 Project is part of a nationwide effort that carried the tagline: “Save your local economy three stores at a time.”
This is Bluffton downtown merchant’s fourth year in sponsoring this promotion, which
encourages persons to pick three locally independent businesses, and spend $50 each month between the three.
Bob Painter weighs a bag of peanut brittle just out of the Bluffton Senior Center kitchen. Senior center volunteers started making this year’s supply on Nov. 2 and will end production on Nov. 30. The candy may be purchased during regular business hours now until Christmas. The price is the same as last year at $5.50 a pound. Peanut brittle is one of the center’s biggest fundraisers and among its oldest traditions. The recipe is the same used in 1974 when the first batch was created.
