Bluffton Airport has received federal funding to repave three taxiways at the 1080 Navajo Dr. facility, which will update routes used to move aircraft from hangers to the runway.
The Village of Bluffton has been awarded a $90,000 federal grant from the FAA’s Airport Improvement Program for paving some 4/10th of a mile of taxiways. This grant follows the $1.1 million award that resulted in complete repaving of the runway in 2020-2021. Grants are made to ensure passenger safety and to support local economies.
A new cycling club has formed in Bluffton: the Bluffton High Noon Riders
invite cyclists of any level to join them at noon each weekday for a
45-minute ride.
The organizers emphasize: "Rides are casual for exercise and fun. No one is dropped!"
Riders meet at the Mennonite Church Parking lot each day at noon, rainy days

The big "cherry picker" lifts at Bluffton Schools have been a reminder of the maintenance and deep cleaning done during the summer. Outside tuck pointing, painting and window sealing work are being done.
The Bluffton Area Chamber of Commerce coordinates fireworks after National Night Out at the Bluffton Community Pool. The Icon recorded the attached "double take" of the grand finale with reflection in Buckeye Lake. YouTube video HERE.

This followed their 1957 hit “Wake Up Little Susie.” The songs were written by the prolific duo of Felice and Boudleaux Bryant. The legendary Chet Atkins played the guitar for The Everly Brothers on both singles. The Everly Brothers were known as an American rock duo and as pioneers of country rock.
