Pops Concert on tap at Bluffton April 8

Bluffton University's annual Pops Concert, at 7:30 p.m. Friday, April 8, in Founders Hall, will offer a mix of music ranging from Broadway to Kid Rock. The concert is free and open to the public.

The evening will begin with jazz from the university's Jazz Ensemble, directed by Dr. Adam Schattschneider, professor of music. The ensemble will perform "This Could Be the Start of Something," the composition and theme song of the late comedian, writer and television personality Steve Allen; "MacArthur Park," "Lullaby of Birdland" and "St. Thomas."

Bluffton junior high musicians perform well at contest

Bluffton students performed well at the April 2 junior high solo and ensemble ajudicated event held at Liberty Benton.

April 21 next tea at The Inn at ONU

The Inn at Ohio Northern University offers Third Thursday Tea at the Inn every third Thursday afternoon of each month from 3:30 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. At Third Thursday Tea a featured speaker will be provided.

April's tea is at 3:30 p.m. on April 21. The theme is a gardening presentation. Topics will include sun vs. shade plants, container gardens and more. Plan to attend now and get a jump-start on your spring planting.

SBA extends incident period for February-March flooding

The SBA has extended the incident period to March 14 for its Ohio disaster declaration in response to additional damages that occurred several days following the severe storms and flooding that began on Feb. 27. The declaration covers Auglaize and Marion counties and the adjacent counties of Allen, Crawford, Darke, Delaware, Hardin, Logan, Mercer, Morrow, Shelby, Union, Van Wert and Wyandot in Ohio.
