Justin Crosier named second team All-North Region

Bluffton University nose tackle Justin Crosier was recently named to the All-North Region Second Team by D3football.com for his work on the football field in 2010. This comes on the heels of Crosier earning First Team All-Heartland Conference honors.

BHS student of the month selected

Samantha Harrod, senior, is the Bluffton High School student of the month for December.

She participates in BHS girls' basketball and was named honorable mention on last season's NWC team. She plans on attending Rhodes State College, Lima, where she will pursue a degree in nursing.

She is a BHS office club worker, was a stats keeper for football and works part-time at the Shawnee Country Club.

Her parents are Jim and Lisa Harrod, 7210 Mayberry Road, Elida.

Andrea Geesman MMH employee of the month

Andrea Geesman is the Mennonite Memorial Home employee of the month. She has worked as on STNA at the Mennonite Memorial Home for over one year.

Andrea is an excellent co-worker who is courteous and never hesitate to help others when she can. She arrives ready to work, enjoys visiting with residents, and always has a positive attitude.

She has been praised for her clear thinking and actions during stressful situations as well as her encouraging personality. Congratulations Andrea.

Bluffton University women fall to 3-3

The Bluffton University women's basketball team hosted Anderson University on Wednesday, December 8, 2010, at Founders Hall. The Beavers got off to a slow start as they only managed 12 points in the first half, trailing 32-12 at the break en route to a 65-51 Raven victory. The loss dropped the Beavers back to .500 overall with a 3-3 record, including a 1-2 mark in the HCAC. Anderson improved to to 3-4 overall with a 1-2 record in the HCAC.

Anderson stops Bluffton University men

The Bluffton University men's basketball team traveled to Raven country to face HCAC rival Anderson University on Wednesday, December 8, 2010. The Beavers tied the game late in the second half, but the Raven offense proved to be too much for Bluffton as the men lost their second straight conference contest. The Beavers slipped to 5-2 overall with a mark of 1-2 in the Heartland Conference. Anderson improved to 2-1 in HCAC action and 4-2 for this season.
