Documentary filmmaker, Ellie Bernstein, will host a movie event starting with an informal conversation at 6:30 p.m. on Monday, Feb. 22, in Centennial Hall’s Stutzman Lecture Hall. Bernstein will show her documentary, “Ghost Town: The Hebron Story,” at 7 p.m.
“Ghost Town,” tells the story of families in Hebron, which is located in the West Bank of Palestine.
Josephine Melvina Cheney, 85, died Feb. 9, 2016, at St. Rita's Medical Center, Lima. Josephine was born Aug. 7, 1930 in Beaverdam to the late Thomas and Gertrude (Meeks) White. In December 1946, she married Earl K. Cheney Sr. who preceded her in death in July 2001.
Josephine had worked in the laundry department at Richland Manor. She had also worked at ExCello-Airfoil Textron and Triplett Corp., both of Bluffton. She attended Rockport United Methodist Church.
Attention parents of Bluffton elementary students. The deadline to order a 2015-16 school memory book is Thurday, Feb. 11. According to the elementary school website the price is $18 per book or it can be upgraded to a hardcover for $23.

Bluffton High School wrestlers finished second in the Northwest Conference wrestling championship held this past weekend at Paulding. BHS scored 243 points behind champ Dephos Jefferson with 271 points.
The Pirates led the way with four individual champions and three are underclassmen. Jefferson and Allen East each had three.
