Chamber announces new telephone number

The Bluffton Area Chamber of Commerce unveiled a new telephone number on Dec. 21. The new number: 419-369-2985 ties the chamber into the Village of Bluffton phone system.

The new number marks the final conversion as part of its move into the Bluffton town hall. The chamber has an office on the second floor of the town hall.

Emmanuel UCC host to Longest Night service

The Bluffton Area Ministerial Association's Longest Night service is at 7 p.m., Tuesday, Dec. 21, at Emmanuel United Church of Christ.

The service includes scripture, readings, music, candle lighting, prayer, and times of silence to be present with our pain before our loving God. All are welcome to attend.

Kim Basinger Designs created this window in Deer Creek Shoppes on North Main Street. It was third place in the chamber's downtown holiday window decorating contest.

Andrea Geesman named MHCO employee of the year

Andrea Geesman

Andrea Gessman was named Mennonite Home Communities of Ohio's employee of the year recently.

The award was announced at the MHCO employee Christmas party held in December.

Geesman is as an state tested nursing assistant at the Mennonite Memorial Home. She is an excellent co-worker, arrives ready to work and comes a postitive attitude.

She is courteous to others and goes above and beyond in her care for the residents.

She has been praised for her clear thinking and actions during stressful situations as well as her encouraging personality.

Terriers take advantage of three-point line in 74-55 win over Bluffton

The Bluffton University women's basketball team ran into a hot outside shooting Hiram squad on Monday, December 20, 2010. The Terriers connected on 10-of-22 shots from distance, compared to just 4-of-20 by the Beavers, en route to a 74-55 win over Bluffton. Hiram improved to 6-3 on the season while the Beavers slipped to 4-5 overall.
