Bluffton Soccer Club registration starts in late January - registration forms on The Icon

The weather outside may be frightful, but it's time to start thinking about Bluffton soccer.

Open registration for youth wanting to play in the Bluffton Soccer Club takes place at the Bluffton middle school from 6:30 to 8 p.m. on Tuesday, Jan. 28, and Thursday, Jan. 30, Registrations with payment is due on Saturday, Feb. 1.

Bluffton council's first meeting of 2014 moved to Jan. 8

Bluffton council first meeting of 2014 has a two-day weather delay. Originally scheduled for Monday, Jan. 6, the meeting is reset for Wednesday, Jan. 8, at 8 p.m. in the town hall. The meeting will include the swearing in of newly-elected council members. 

The meeting agenda is in an attachment at the bottom of this story.

Ryan Rodabaugh is Legion rifle raffle winner

Ryan Rodabaugh (left) is the winner of a Henry repeating rifle, won from a Bluffton American Legion raffle held Dec. 16. Presenting the rifle to Rodabaugh is Larry Core. The presentation was at Riley Creek Mercantile.

On Monday morning the Beaverdam-Richland Fire Department responded to a house fire with the Cairo fire department. The firemen ended up covered in nearly an inch of ice. To view more photos click here.

Beaverdam-Richland Fire Dept. respond to fire in Cairo

On Monday, Jan. 6, Beaverdam-Richland Township Fire Department responded to a house fire with Cairo. The firemen ended up covered in nearly an inch of ice. The first picture is of Ed Montgomery's safety vest frozen and standing on its own.
