Out with the old...

Village employees Kyle Swank and Scott Phillips replace a water meter on East Elm Street. The village is replacing all its meters with new ones this summer. As the project progresses water customers will see a utility bill in a new format. The new meters reports gallons of water used instead of in cubic feet. Click here for more details.

Bluffton Family Recreation's summer camp theme
Monday to Friday, July 6 - July 10

Explore the outdoors with the BFR summer camp staff. Camper activities include fishing, campfire cooking and camp ground preparation. Crafts include paper plate fans, butterfly feeders and pine cone bird feeders.

Daily schedule:
7:30 - 9:30 a.m. Pre-camp
9:30 a.m. -3:30 p.m. - Traditional camp
3:30-5:30 p.m. - Post camp

July 6 public hearing on South Main Street request

Bluffton Board of Zoning and Building Appeals will hold a public hearing Monday, July 6, at 7 p.m., in the town hall third floor community room.

The discussion centers on a resident at 356 S. Main St. request for a variance. The request is a dimensional variance from the required side yard and dwelling setback for the addition of a carport, according to Bryan Lloyd, assistant village administrator.

Taking a bite out of history

One of the former Steinman Lumber Company buildings is being devoured by progress this week. The building in question was at one time used to construct window frames in the late 1930s. The building faced Railroad Street near Cherry.
