For adults this winter at BFR...

Coed volleyball, pickelball, coed softball, coed softball tournament

Four indoor sport activities are available for adults starting in January at Bluffton Family Recreation, according to Daniel Tinch, BFR executive director.

Coed Volleyball
First session: Thursdays – Jan. 10-Feb. 14
   Five weeks of play plus a tournament.
Second session: Thursdays – Feb. 21-March 28
   Five weeks of play plus a tournament.
$150 per team. Games on Thursday evenings.

Pickelball
Tuesdays – 8:30 and 10:30 a.m. and 7-9 p.m.
Thursdays – 8:30 and 10:30 a.m. and 5-7 p.m.

Still time to sign-up for BFR indoor soccer

Session II play begins Jan. 6; register deadline is Dec. 22

One week remains for team sign-ups for Bluffton Family Recreation Session II in-door soccer, according to Daniel Tinch, BFR executive director.

Session II runs five weeks from Jan. 6 to Feb. 9. Team fee is $460 and the deadline to sign up is Saturday, Dec. 22. One date change is due to the Super Bowl on Sunday, Feb. 3. Games that date after 4 p.m. move to Jan. 30.

Four December "school out day camps" at BFR

Dec. 21, Dec. 26, Dec. 27, Dec. 28

Bluffton Family Recreation reminds Icon viewers of four school day out camps later this month, according to Daniel Tinch, BFR executive director.

December camp days are Friday, Dec. 21, and Wednesday, Thursday and Friday, Dec. 26-27-28.

Camp hours are 7:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. and camps are open to youth ages 5 to 12.

Youth may sign up for one day or for the entire break. Single day cost is $15 per day for members and $30 per day for program participants. Or, five days for $60 (members), and $120 (program participants).

Bluffton Family Recreation’s winter youth and adult program schedule covering January through the end of March was announced today by Daniel Tinch, BFR executive director.

Adult programs include soccer, coed volleyball, pickleball, basketball, coed indoor softball and a coed softball tournament. Tournaments involving tennis and pickleball will be announced later.

Coffee is on Thursday mornings at BFR

Thursday coffee walks now through end of March

The coffee is on at Bluffton Family Recreation.

Daniel Tinch, BFR executive director, invites Icon viewers to drop in at BFR on Thursdays from 8:30 to 10:30 a.m.

That’s when Coffee Walks take place. The coffee and walks are free to BFR members and track pass holders. Twisted Whisk Café sponsors the coffee. Mark Studer of BFR creates a weekly coffee cake or other specialty item to accompany the coffee.

Sign-ups under for January programs at BFR

Bluffton Family Recreation announces that sign-up is underway for four upcoming programs, according to Daniel Tinch, BFR executive director.

Youth arena flag football – boys 5 to 7
This is a round-robin league with games from Jan. 2, to Feb. 3. Games are Saturday mornings. Registration is $200 per team.
