Bluffton's Farmers' Market is busy this month as lots of fresh produce are available. Here's Shelby August with one of the many vendors on Saturday mornings. The market is open from 8:30 a.m. to noon Saturdays in the Citizens National Bank parking lot.

Bluffton chamber announces ambitious fall schedule; invites individuals to become members

Bluffton Area Chamber of Commerce has ambitious plans as it launches its 2014-15 year. In addition to annoucing these plans, the chamber extends an invitation to individuals to become a chamber member for $50 per year. Here is an overview of projects in the works this fall.

Bluffton High School girls' soccer team flattened Marion Hardin 12-0 on Aug 16 in Marion.

They're the "Best Health Care Communications Team" in nation

Blanchard Valley Health System's Corporate PR & Marketing Department has been named the “Best Health Care Communications Team” in the nation through the prestigious 2014 Ragan Health Care PR & Marketing Awards.
 
The department was announced as one of two finalists for the award in July, and was announced as the competition’s winner in a special edition of Health Care Communication News released August 13.

Special council meeting Aug. 21 to discuss Kingsley replacement

Interested in becoming a Bluffton council member?

With Mitch Kingsley stepping down from council on Sept. 1, the council has 30 days to appointment his replacement. If council fails to do so, the appointment is made by Mayor Judy Augsburger.

On Aug. 18 Dave Steiner asked for a council-meeting-of-the-whole. The meeting is set from 7:30 p.m., Thursday, Aug. 21, in council chambers on the third floor of the town hall.

Steiner said that the purpose of the meeting is to discuss how the council should proceed in selected a new council member.
