Meet Lainy the Pirate

Lainy Wilmoth is a student at Bluffton Child Development Center. She's also a pirate. July 31 was Pirate Day at BCDC and Lainy and lots of her friends dressed up in their pirate costumes. We caught Lainy during lunch in the 4-year-old-room. (Her pirate hat blinks.)

August is full of activies at the Bluffton Public Library. Here's the schedule:

Tutor Me Paperless returns in August. Every Wednesday of the month, a one-on-one tutor will meet with patrons with technology questions free of charge. Your topics may vary, so call in to specify that topic and to secure a reservation. 

Storytime (Ages 3 to 5): Visit Storytime on Mondays at 6:30 p.m. or Tuesdays at 10 a.m.  Our theme for August –December is ‘Around the world in 142 days,’ looking at stories from around the world, immigration and languages.

Exchange program brings 23 Chinese faculty, administrators, government liaisons to Bluffton

A 23-member delegation from China West Normal University is learning about American higher education at Bluffton University as part of an ongoing exchange program between the two institutions.

The China West Normal faculty, administrators and government liaisons—including 16 men and seven women—arrived in Bluffton July 27. During a nearly two-week stay, they are also scheduled to spend time at Bowling Green State University and in Lima, Toledo and Dearborn, Mich.

Dean Altstaetter Friday's performer at The Inn at ONU "JustJazzInn"

Dean Altstaetter is the performer for the Friday, Aug. 1, “Just JazzInn,” at The Inn at ONU, Ada.

“Just JazzInn” is a regular Friday feature at The Inn at ONU. You can enjoy live music while taking part of the appetizer buffet. The live music, performed by area musicians, takes place in the Inn’s lobby or courtyard.

Call 419-722-2500 to make reservations, or first come/first serve for the weekly event.
The appetizer buffet opens at 5 p.m. each Friday. Live music is from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m.
