Jane E. Benroth was an LPN

Jane E. Benroth, 83, passed away May 22, 2024 at Willow Ridge - Frieda House, Bluffton.  ane was born March 2, 1941 in Bluffton to the late Daniel and Margaret (Hutchinson) Alspach. On May 5, 1961 she married Richard Dale Benroth who preceded her in death on March 13, 2016.

In 1984, Wendy’s food chain released a commercial with Clara Peller asking “where’s the beef?” The commercial aired in the United States and Canada to highlight Wendy’s use of more beef and less bun compared to their competitors.

Hospital auxiliary awards scholarship in memory of Marty Lemley

The Blanchard Valley Health System (BVHS) Auxiliary has awarded a $2,500 scholarship in memory of dedicated volunteer Marty Lemley to Caitlyn Couch, a 2024 graduate of Bluffton High School.

Lemley, who passed away in October 2023 at age 79, was a devoted volunteer at Bluffton Hospital. She volunteered more than 7,000 hours, stopping only when her health declined.

“Marty was so dedicated to serving the community, and was beloved by so many people,” said Heather Schalk, volunteer services manager for BVHS. “She was so friendly and it seemed like she never knew a stranger.”
