BLUFFTON HOLIDAY LIGHTING WINNERS

While Bluffton is a blaze of lights, several of those lights shine a littler brighter tonight that they did before.

The Bluffton Chamber of Commerce Blaze of Lights holiday light contest winners were announced on Dec. 6. The winners follow:

Bob Painter guards the peanut brittle

Bob Painter of the Bluffton Senior Citizens Center says that there's enough nuts to go around. He's referring to the peanuts in the homemade peanut brittle created each Monday this holiday season by the Center. For only $4.50 you may purchase one pound of the best peanut brittle in Ohio...while the supply lasts.

If we asked all the BC alums reading this to raise a hand, there would be lots of hands going up. This license plate is a familar site around Bluffton. It is on Dean and Joanne Niswander's vehicle.

Handel's Messiah - 114th rendition Sunday in Founders

The Bluffton University music department will present the 114th rendition of Handel's Messiah at 4 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 6, in Founders Hall. This event is free and open to the public. A free-will offering will be taken.

Get on your Harley and ride...to the library. A Harley Davidson Christmas figurine collection of Bryan and Gail Neff is on exhibit this month in the Bluffton Public Library showcase.

Erma M. Arnold, 1919-2009

Erma M. Arnold

Erma M. Arnold, 90, died at Richland Manor Nursing Home, Bluffton, at 5:45 a.m., Dec. 3, 2009. She was born March 3, 1919, to John D. and Josie Shaffer Miller in Monroe Township, Allen County. On Nov. 23, 1936, she married Arthur Arnold and he survives.
