Are you old enough to identify this former Bluffton businessman? It is Charles Hankish (senior) standing at his soda fountain. Rich Garmatter sent the photo that was from his dad, Eli Garmatter's collection.

The Hankish store was on North Main Street between Church Street and the alley north of The Sports Warehouse.

BHS sophomores may visit Apollo on Jan. 28

Bluffton High School sophomores have an opportunity to participate in the Apollo Career Center Hands-On day on Friday, Jan. 28. A snow date is Monday, Jan. 31.

Approximately 600 sophomores in Apollo Career Center's 11-member district will be visiting Apollo. Parents of sophomore students are also invited to attend.

Village income tax notices in the mail

Bluffton taxpayers received a green postcard recently. The card informs taxpayers that village tax forms will not be mailed this year unless specifically requested by contacting the village tax office at 419-358-2066.

All income tax return forms and instructions, extension request forms, quarterly estimate vouchers, retirement certification forms and other related tax information and forms may be downloaded from the village website: www.bluffton-ohio.com.

Bluffton EMS reported 472 runs for 2010, according to Jan Basinger, EMS chief. He provided a monthly breakdown on runs to Bluffton council on Jan. 10.
