Bluffton boys-Bluffton University men-Bath girls bball tourney pairings set

Four Bluffton teams are involved in basketball holiday tournaments played in Bluffton or Lima in late December. Here's the schedules:

6 p.m. - Pittsburgh-Greensburg (PA) vs. Westminster (PA)
Second game - Bluffton vs. Wright State-Lake

Dec. 30
1 p.m. - Consolation contest
3 p.m. - Title game

Residential lighting winners announced

Bluffton residential holiday light winners were announced on Dec. 10 by the Bluffton Area Chamber of Commerce.

The following residential display were selected winners. Each has a sign in their lawn stating their winning entry. In addition, each receives a $50 chamber gift certificate.

Three school concerts delayed until later

Due to the snow, the three Bluffton school concerts scheduled for Monday, Dec. 13, have been rescheduled.

The afternoon all-elementary concert scheduled for 1:30 p.m. has been rescheduled for Monday, Dec. 20.

The two middle school concerts (one at 6 p.m. and the second at 7:30 p.m.) have been moved to Thursday, Dec. 16.

Justin Crosier named second team All-North Region

Bluffton University nose tackle Justin Crosier was recently named to the All-North Region Second Team by D3football.com for his work on the football field in 2010. This comes on the heels of Crosier earning First Team All-Heartland Conference honors.

BHS student of the month selected

Samantha Harrod, senior, is the Bluffton High School student of the month for December.

She participates in BHS girls' basketball and was named honorable mention on last season's NWC team. She plans on attending Rhodes State College, Lima, where she will pursue a degree in nursing.

She is a BHS office club worker, was a stats keeper for football and works part-time at the Shawnee Country Club.

Her parents are Jim and Lisa Harrod, 7210 Mayberry Road, Elida.
