ADA __ Several Bluffton High School athletes qualified for the regional track and field meet with strong showings at the Div. III district competition on May 16 and 18.
The Pirate boys finished a fine second at the event. Columbus Grove won the boys team title with 118 points, followed by the Pirates with 99.
Top-four finishers in any event qualified to the regional meet in Fostoria next week.
Pirate junior speedster Griffin Stackhouse won both the 100 and 200-meter dash titles.
Senior Theo Andreas crossed the line first in the 3200-meter run.
The Pirate boys dominated the relay events, winning the 4 x 100 and 4 x 200 races, and finishing third in the 4 x 400.
The Pirate girls came in a solid fourth in the team standings with 82 points. Grove was second with 123.
