The Bluffton High School student of the month for May 2024 is Ethan Nickel, son of Kevin and Kendra Nickel of Bluffton.
Nickel is an outstanding senior and active member of the Bluffton student body, participating in math club, academic team and Spanish club.
An accomplished musician, Ethan also performs in the choir, marching band, concert band and pep band. Nickel is a member of the National Honor Society, and is currently taking CCP courses at Ohio Northern University and the University of Findlay, with previous coursework completed at Bluffton University.
In his free time, Ethan enjoys sports, video games and hanging out with friends. He is captain of the boy's tennis team, and also played on the soccer team.
Ethan is the current recipient of the Governor's Merit Scholarship. After graduation, Nickel plans to attend the Rose-Hulman Institute of Technology in Terre Haute, IN, majoring in Mechanical and Aerospace Engineering.
