Business networking luncheon Monday at Jeanne's Kitchen

Women's Entrepreneurial Network (WEN) - open to women and men - will meet at 11:30 a.m., Monday, April 18, in Jeanne's Kitchen, 112 Vine St., Bluffton.

Linda Everhardt-Kardux, president of the organization, said that the meeting is open to all business owners, sole proprietors, sales people, people thinking about starting a business and people looking for a career change.

"The network is all about helping each other's businesses grow through monthly meetings," she said. WEN is a member of the Bluffton Area Chamber of Commerce.

Jazz in the stacks Monday at 6 p.m. at the library - Basie and Duke will be there

In honor of Jazz Appreciation Month, Bluffton Public Library is hosting "Jazz in the Stacks" on Monday, April 18, beginning at 6 p.m.

Jazz music will be presented by the Bluffton High School Jazz Band led by David Sycks. Refreshments will be provided.

Fred Williams

Fred D. Williams, 66 died at 9:45 a.m. April 16, 2011 at Golden Living Center, Lima. He was born March 12, 1945 in Bluffton to Francis R. and Dorothy M. (Augsburger) Williams.

He had worked at Rusco, Lugabill Florist, Diller Medical, and A to Z Meats. He was a member of Ebenezer Mennonite Church, Bluffton. He was a 1965 Bluffton High School graduate. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army serving in the Vietnam Conflict.

Riley Creek Festival slated for today at Bluffton University

Events will move to Marbeck Center, Burcky Gym and Founders Hall hallways in case of rain.

Bluffton University will host the eighth annual Riley Creek Festival beginning at 11 a.m. Saturday, April 16, primarily on the Neufeld Hall lawn.

The event is free-except for lunch-and open to the public. Lunch, served from 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m., is $6 for adults and $3 for children.
