Holy Week services at English Lutheran Church announced

"The people of English Lutheran Church invite you to join us "on the way" to the surprise of Easter as we gather for our Holy Week services," said Rev. Kevin Mohr, pastor.  

He continues: "The journey begins this weekend with our Palm Sunday celebration at 9 a.m., which will include a procession with palms and an interactive reading of Luke's narrative of Jesus' passion.

Baseball: Bluffton rally falls just short in 6-5 loss to Anderson

The Bluffton University baseball team opened up conference play on Friday, March 22, 2013, against Anderson University in a tough battle between the two Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference foes. Bluffton mounted a four-run comeback late in the game, but it was not enough as the Ravens held on for the 6-5 victory.

Services in Kenton Sunday for John E. Lancaster

A memorial service for John E. Lancaster, 40, of Beaverdam and formerly of Mt. Victory, will be held at 4 p.m. Sunday at the Schindewolf Stevens Stout Funeral Home at 200 E. Columbus St. in Kenton by the Rev. Harrison Underwood.

Friends may call 1-4 p.m. Sunday.  

He died Saturday, March 16, 2013 at Park City, Kansas. He was born April 23, 1972, in Michigan to Donald and Barbara (Freeman) Lancaster.  On Nov. 4, 199,5 he married Carita Downey and she survives.

Diabetes Alert Day planned at BFR on March 26

 

BFR Sports & Fitness will partner with the American Diabetes Association for the annual Diabetes Alert Day on Monday, March 26, according to Carole Enneking, direcector.

Held every fourth Tuesday in March, the Alert Day is a one-day, “wake-up call” asking the American public to take the Diabetes Risk Test to find out if they are at risk for developing type 2 diabetes.
