I am not a big dessert guy. My wife makes super dinners. She does usually put some fruit into a little bowl for our after-dinner treat. It’s the opposite of eating chocolate cheesecake in America. And it does keep me passing health checks, so there is that.

Forgotten Bluffton: The origin of the BHS school crest

It was created 55 school years ago

You’ve viewed at the Bluffton High School crest, but did you ever wonder how it came into existence?

Here’s the answer.

In the 1964-65 school year Beaverdam’s school district was annexed into the Bluffton school district.

School crests became popular in the mid-1960s, and the development of a Bluffton High School crest made sense, especially as a way to integrate the two school systems.

Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD) is a condition that directly affects one's mental health and disrupts daily activities. PTSD may arise from a wide variety of contexts, such as natural disasters, motor vehicle-related accidents, sexual assault and assault. It is also commonly associated with wartime activities like direct combat. 

Betty Ann Amstutz was a Lima Central HS graduate

Betty Ann Amstutz, 89, died April 23, 2021, at Bridge Hospice Care Center in Findlay.  Betty was born Sept. 15, 1931, in Lima to the late Fair and Minnie (Mills) Dew.  On Dec. 9, 1960, she married Lawrence Amstutz who preceded her in death on Aug. 13, 2015.

Betty was a 1949 graduate of Lima Central High School.  She worked for 13 years for City Loan - Lima and also was a cashier for a supermarket for two years while attending high school.  Betty was a member of Pandora United Methodist Church and enjoyed working in her flower gardens, dining out and her family pets.
