Baseball: Beavers shutout Anderson 5-0

The Bluffton University baseball team moved to 12-16 with a convincing 5-0 shutout of Anderson University on a chilly Thursday, April 22, 2021, just one day after Mother Nature dropped five inches of the white stuff on Memorial Field. Anderson fell to 15-11 overall and in the HCAC .

BCE market research roundtable April 29

Bluffton's pathway – past, present and future

Engaging walking, running and biking in our community - part 1

First in a series
Bluffton’s pathway project now in its 11th year, has extended running, walking and biking safety and expanded opportunities for those exercises. The Icon provides this series to bring viewers up-to-date on what the pathway has accomplished and what is yet-to-develop. This series also serves as a reminder the project's benefits all residents.

Background
A Master Plan developed in 2009 through joint funding of the Bluffton Lions and the Village of Bluffton produced a guide for future pathway development.

A May Day weekend concert to watch at home

Bluffton University’s May Day Gala Concert will be streamed for viewing at www.bluffton.edu/mus at 7:30 p.m. on Friday, May 7 and Saturday, May 8.

Under the direction of Dr. Bo Young Kang, director of choral activities, the evening’s theme is “Songs of Love, Songs under Moonlight.”

Pieces include favorites from operas and musicals including: “Don Pasquale,” “Jekyll and Hyde,” “Miss Saigon,” “Once,” “Gigi,” “Cats” and “A Little Night Music.” The evening performance will end with the classic love song “Fly Me to the Moon.” 

ODOT in process of switching to LED at certain interchanges

Including I-75 at Napoleon Road and I-75 at 235

The Ohio Department of Transportation (ODOT) District 1 will shed new light across the region.

A project to install light-emitting diode (LED) luminaires along designated highways and interchanges will begin today, updating the system and significantly reducing energy use. 

“The changes will provide more effective lighting at a much lower cost to taxpayers,” said District 1 Deputy Director Chris Hughes.
