Dueling for Dumbbells returns on August 7

Tickets now on sale at BFR

Tickets are now on sale for one of Bluffton Family Recreation's more popular evening programs, "Dueling for Dumbbells."

The event returns to Bluffton following a year off due to COVID-19.

The program is on Saturday, August 7, from 6 to 11 p.m. The event is held at BFR, 215 Snider Road, according to Daniel Tinch.

Tickets include a full dinner provided by Bubba C's.

Tickets are $50 each and are available to purchase at BFR.

Blanchard Valley Health System to host virtual presentation

Blanchard Valley Health System (BVHS) will host “Managing Menopause: Understanding the Different Stages of Menopause” virtual presentation, a part of the 2021 virtual “Live and Learn” Facebook Live series.

Ray Graves was a member of the Citadel Basketball Team, "The Blitz Kids"

Ray A. Graves, 83, passed away peacefully on Saturday, July 17, 2021 at his residence. Ray was born on January 15, 1938 in Vinton County near Ray, Ohio to the late Otis and Clara (Thacker) Graves.

Ray is survived by his wife of 44 years, Linda (Parish) Graves of Pandora; two sons, David (Karen) Graves of Mansfield, Ohio, Tim Graves of Colorado Springs, Colorado; a grandson, David Sean Graves of Colorado Springs, a sister Joanne (Larry) Stevens of Chillicothe, Ohio; a brother, Claude (Georgene) Graves of Blacklick, Ohio and a sister-in-law, Julie Huwer Graves of St Mary’s, Ohio.

Bluffton Planning Commission meeting set

The Village of Bluffton Planning Commission plans to meet on Tuesday, July 20 at 5:00 p.m. on the third floor of the Town Hall. The meeting will serve as a pre-application conference for a potential major subdivision off of Sunset Drive.

Kuhlman joins FNB as Marketing Director

School board will meet tonight at 7:30 p.m.

Agenda includes a review of contracts and assignments

Bluffton school board will review its "Service Fund" at the July 19 meeting.

In addition, the board will act on appointing Paula Parish, treasurer, Wesley Klinger, board president, and Greg Denecker, superintendent, to the Records Commission for the 2021-2022 school year.

The board will also review several contracts and assignments, including changes in hours, new classified employees, supplemental contracts, classified substitutes, and substitute teachers.
