Here are two rare photos of the floating swimming pool in the Buckeye quarry. These photos was taken in 1944, during a Lions Club picnic, following a removation of the pool area by the club.
For people who can visualize the location, this is east end (Main Street side) of the Buckeye.

St. Rita’s Medical Center will host The 2019 Palliative Care and Hospice Symposium, focusing on presentations and discussion on palliative and hospice care and dispelling the myths that surround these services.
The event is Wednesday, Oct. 30, at the UNOH Event Center, 450 N Cable Road, Lima. Registration begins at 7:15 a.m., with presentations take place from 7:45 a.m. to 4 p.m.

The Bluffton University football team played host to conference foe Anderson University in what was a cold and rainy afternoon on Saturday.
The Beaver defense came up big late in the game and stuffed a fourth down try by the Ravens that would help propel Bluffton to its first victory of the season, 24-17.
Bluffton improved to 1-6 overall and 1-3 in Heartland conference play while Anderson fell to 3-5 overall and 1-4 in the HCAC.

TIFFIN - The youthful Bluffton boys cross country team finished 22nd in the 23-team Div. III regional meet at Tiffin's Hedges-Boyer Park on a cool, wet Saturday morning.
New London won the boys team title with 68 points. Sandusky St. Mary's Central Catholic was second with 125 points, followed by Hopewell-Loudon (164) in third.
Holgate (192) came in fourth, followed by Minster (203), Ashland Crestview (204) and Liberty Center (209).
