Edgar Cook was a Bluffton Sportsman, Triplett retiree and active in Masonic organizations

Edgar S. Cook, 95, of Bluffton died at 3:19 p.m., Dec. 26, 2013 at Willow Ridge, Bluffton. 

He was born January 9, 1918. in Westminster to Edgar R. and Bonnie M Scholfield Cook.  On May 27, 1944, he married Mary Jane Klay and she preceded him in death Oct. 25, 2012.

Mr. Cook retired from Triplett Corp., Bluffton. He was a member of the First United Methodist Church, Bluffton, Mt. Cory Masonic Lodge 418, the former Bluffton Masonic Lodge 432 where he was a past master, Ada Chapter 138 Royal Arch Masons, Grand Chapter of Royal Arch Masons Findlay Chapter 58, and a 50-year member of the Trinity Chapter 16, Order of the Eastern Star. He was also a member of the Bluffton Senior Citizens and the Bluffton Sportsmen Club where he was honored in1996 at the annual trout derby. He was a graduate of Mt. Cory High School in 1936. 

Survivors include two daughters, Bonnie J. (Paul) Dudgeon of Pandora, Donna J. Cook of Bluffton, three grandchildren, Rebecca Dudgeon, Cynthia Dudgeon, David Dudgeon, three great grandchildren, Zachary, Mackenzie and Rachel Kanney and a brother, Paul (Luella) Cook of Lima. He was preceded in death by two sisters, Ruth Alloway and Elizabeth Leffler.

Funeral services will begin at 11 a.m. Monday at Chiles-Laman Funeral and Cremation Services, Bluffton. Rev. Kimberly Miller will officiate. Burial will be in Maple Grove Cemetery, Bluffton. 

Friends may call from 2-6 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home with a Masonic service beginning at 6 p.m. Memorial contributions may be made to First United Methodist Church, Bridge Hospice or Mennonite Memorial Home.  Online condolences may be expressed at www.chiles-lamanfh.com.
