Lots of events on Bluffton's weekend calendar - Friday-Saturday-Sunday

Looks like there’s lots to do in Bluffton this weekend. Here’s a capsule of events:

Friday - free ice cream

Tommy Tire Sales, 319 N. Main St., will have its second annual free ice cream from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m., on Friday, according to Tom Dotson."Jay Lugibihl will bring his homemade ice cream maker again and also this year we will be doing a bonus for the kids with free pony rides from noon to 5 p.m.," said Dotson.

Saturday ALS bake sale

From 8 a.m. to noon in front of Citizens National Bank on Saturday is a bake sale to benefit the ALS Association.  The Bluffton team "Fast Talker Kingsley" will be raising money for the ALS walk in Columbus on Sept. 27. The team will walk and raise donations in honor of Phillip Kingsley. To donate or join the team please contact [email protected]. To donate click on the link and select team "Fast talker Kingsley."

Saturday cars and coffee

Bluffton cars and coffee – an informal gathering for enthusiasts and their cars – takes place from 8 a.m. to 11 a.m., Saturday, at Masterpiece Signs, 906 N. Main St. Coffee and pastries are by Common Grounds, according to Boutwell.

“Cars and coffee is a gathering of auto enthusiasts where proud drivers will congregate to enjoy a cup of coffee and kick tires,” he said. “There is something for everyone: classics, exotics, sports cars, luxury cars, imports and domestics. Bring your ride or drive yourself.”

The events are free and open to the public.

Saturday Paws to read

Bluffton Public Library hosts a “Paws to read” with Teddy, at 10 a.m. on Saturday. The program allows young children to read a book to a support dog at the library.

Saturday Farmers' Market

Bluffton Farmers Market will be open on Saturday from 8:30 a.m. to noon in the Citizens National Bank parking lot.

Sunday Ccommunity worship service

Bluffton Area Ministerial Associations (BAMA) will hold its annual community worship service at 9 a.m., Sunday, on the Bluffton Presbyterian lawn.

Rev. David Good, pastor of Bluffton Presbyterian, said, "The service will focus on the Vacation Bible School, which has been this week. The Theme is “Bible Blast to the Past,” and will feature songs by the children who participated in VBS."

The service will include music by area musicians Scott Edwards, Jerry Szabo and Dave Sycks, and reflections from the participating churches: English Lutheran, St. Mary’s Catholic, St. John’s UCC, First United Methodist, First Mennonite, Bluffton Presbyterian and Emmanuel UCC.

"We have had a great week at VBS, with attendance of up to 130, high enthusiasm, energy and activity, and great support for our mission participation in Bluffton Community Assistance Program. The offering at the Sunday Service will benefit Bluffton Community Assistance," he said.

Main Street from Vine to Church Street will be closed from 8:30 a.m. to noon. Cherry Street from Main to the alley at Common Grounds will also be closed from 8:30 to noon.
