Monday funeral service for Bluffton' "small-town super hero"

Owen Weaver touched the lives of the community

Owen Richard Weaver, 10, died Jan. 17, 2018, at Nationwide Children's Hospital in Columbus. Owen was born Aug. 14, 2007, in Lima to Chad and Melissa (Badgett) Weaver.

Owen was a 4th grader at Marimor Schools in Lima. He played in the Abilities Baseball League in Lima. Owen was a happy boy who loved school, people, and his dog, Ace. Owen had an exceptional bond with his three brothers. 

Survivors include his parents, Chad and Melissa; three brothers, Carsen Weaver, Aiden Weaver, Gaven Weaver all at home; paternal grandparents, Joey and Stacy Weaver of St. Marys, Ohio; maternal grandparents, Larry and Tammy Badgett of St. Marys, Ohio, paternal great-grandmother, Betty Weaver of St. Marys, Ohio; maternal great-grandmothers, Jean Fortkamp of Coldwater, Ohio, Wilma McMurray of Rockford, Ohio, an aunt Amanda (Ryan) Piper of New Bremen, Ohio and an uncle, David Badgett of St. Marys, Ohio.

Services will be held at 2 p.m., Monday, Jan. 22, at Ebenezer Mennonite Church, 8905 Columbus Grove Road, Bluffton. Pastors Jim King and Dale Seefeldt officiating.  Burial will be Ebenezer Mennonite Cemetery following the service.

Visitation will be Sunday from 1 p.m. - 6 p.m. at the church.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the All Abilities Playground Fund at Marimor Schools.
