ODOT seeks public comments on local I-75 project

The Ohio Department of Transportation (ODOT) District 1, seeks public comments regarding the following proposed projects:

  • Interstate 75 resurfacing, ramp repair and bridge maintenance in Allen and Hancock counties - The Ohio Department of Transportation is proposing to resurface Interstate 75 from just south of the Napoleon Road interchange in Allen County to just south of the state Route 235 interchange in Hancock County.
  • With the above project, the following construction activities will also occur: Pavement reconstruction around the Interstate 75 interchange with state Route 696, near the village of Beaverdam in Allen County. Reconstruction will include drainage improvements, installation of a 50-foot wide grass median, and ramp repair.  These activities may result in temporary lane and ramp closures at the interchange.  Vehicular traffic may be detoured, but access to all properties will be maintained throughout construction.

Following a stakeholder meeting held in April 2018, ODOT decided not to pursue removal of the county Road 33 bridges under Interstate 75 and will instead perform maintenance to these bridges as part of this project.

The project is currently scheduled for construction in 2022. However, ODOT is preparing to construct the project as soon as 2020, if funding becomes available.
