Bluffton for Hope/Relay for Life needs volunteers

This year’s Bluffton for Hope Glow Run/Relay for Life is from 6 p.m. to midnight, Friday, June 21, at Bluffton Family Recreation, 215 Snider Road.

Volunteers are needed for several activities and times, listed below. Contact Lynda Best at 419-296-2790 for details.

Author Skype visit at library's discussion group on June 5

"Lillian Boxfish takes a walk" by Kathleen Rooney

The library's book discussion club will have a Skype visit by author Kathleen Rooney as part of their discussion of "Lillian Boxfish Takes a Walk" on Wednesday, June 5 at noon. This discussion, open to the public, will be held in the lower level meeting room at the library.

Some copies of each month's book selection are available for checkout previous to each book discussion. The group meets the first Wednesday of every month.

Volleyball camp set for July 1-2

Bluffton Volleyball camp will be Monday, July 1 through Tuesday, July 2 for any girls entering third through eighth grade at the HS gymnasium. This camp is led by Kevin King, HS varsity volleyball coach, alongside HS coaching staff and varsity players.  

Session 1, from 9 a.m. to noon, is for sixth through eighth graders.
Session 2, from 9 a.m. to 11 a.m. is for third through fifth graders.

Crimson Lane craft beer and wine night; Shifferly Road band, Thurday evening

Crimson Lane, 4600 County Road 1, Ada will host a craft beer and wine night from 6 to 10 p.m., Thursday, May 23, according to Jodi Willeke.

The evening features craft beers from Fat Heads, Moeller and Rhinegeist.

The event includes live music from Shifferly Road Band of Bluffton and a slow smokin’ barbecue food truck.

Crimson Lane opened this past winter. It hosts events such as weddings, anniversaries, reunions, and business conferences and meetings. It  is located 3 miles north of Ada on the Hardin-Hancock County Line Road and 2.5 miles east of State Route 235.

University offers girls' basketball skills camp June 17-20

Bluffton University is offering a Basketball Skills camp for girls, in grades second through eighth, from Monday, June 17 to Thursday, June 20.

This camp is a great opportunity for student athletes to focus on skill development and the fundamentals of the game.

Session 1, from 10 a.m. to noon, is for players entering grades second through fourth.
Session 2, from 1 to 4 p.m. is for players entering grades fifth through eighth.

Hancock County Watershed tour June 14

Sponsored by Blanchard River Watershed Partnership

The Blanchard River Watershed Partnership (BRWP) is holding a Watershed Tour on Friday, June 14 at Brugeman Lodge, 9250 Township Road 208, Findlay, OH 45840 from 8:30 to 11:30 a.m.

As part of this event, participants will get to explore Deer Meadows Wetlands, Riverside Park Dam, meet policymakers and water quality resource professionals, and learn more about the Clean Lake 2020 Plan.

A continental breakfast with coffee and juice will be served from 8:30 to 9:30 a.m.

The Village of Bluffton is a participating partner in the Blanchard River Watershed Partnership.
