Anna Ruth Suter 1929-2010

Anna Ruth Suter, 80, of Pandora died at 5 a.m. March 8, 2010, at Carlisle House, Bucyrus. Born May 25, 1929, in Pandora to Tillman and Rosa Suter Geiger, she married Wilmer E. Suter on Dec. 28, 1947, and he preceded her in death on Jan. 18, 1988.

BCE business plan competition offers $3,000 in prize money

The 2010 Bluffton Center for Entrepreneurs Business Plan Competition kicks off on April 1 with the first of 10 seminars and culminates in June with more than $3,000 in prizes, according to John Bauer, BCE executive director.

"The combined seminar series and competition will teach participants to write a business plan that will improve an existing business or successfully start a new one," said Bauer. "The contest is open to entrepreneurs, start-ups, and emerging businesses (less than three-years old) in northwest Ohio."

It's the week of March 15 and that means the buzzards have returned to Hinkley...make that Bluffton. For several years these large feathered scavengers have made Bluffton their home, arrive usually on March 15. One flock of 30 was spotted earlier in the day. These two were among about a dozen in trees on Riley Creek.

Completed watershed action plan for Riley Creek delayed

A completed watershed action plan for Riley Creek was moved from January 2011 to December 2011, according Nancy Benroth, Bluffton's representative on the Blanchard River Watershed Partnership. The partnership met in late February.

The plan was moved because of the additional work needed to implement portions of the project.

Tom Clark inducted into wrestling hall of fame

Former Bluffton resident Tom Clark was recently inducted into the Indiana High School Wrestling Coaches Association Hall of Fame. The induction took place on Feb. 21.

Clark was inducted on the basis of his contributions as a referee on the high school and international level. This year's induction class included four coaches, four wrestlers and three referees.

The banquet was in Indianapolis.
