Bluffton Center for Entrepreneurs presented its 2019-2020 annual report at an online member meeting of the Bluffton Area Chamber of Commerce on Nov. 13.
Members of the board of directors reviewed how the 501(c)(3) nonprofit has most recently served the four counties surrounding Bluffton.
During this period, the business incubator provided 10 small group events and conducted the Ropp Triplett Business Plan Competition, which awarded $6,000 in business expense reimbursement.

Bluffton council’s park and recreation committee explained projects on its plate during Monday’s council session.
The committee is looking into an annex procedure of the 105-acre Motter Metro Park, which is owned by the Johnny Appleseed Metropolitan Park District. The park is located at 10740 Columbus Grove Road.
One of the long-term goals of the committee is to include a way to get from the Parkview subdivision to the Motter Metro Park walking paths.
What we learned in grade school carries on for a lifetime. Here’s a poster in the hallway of the Bluffton elementary titled: Respect. Treat others the way you want to be treated…always, share, be kind, help, stay patient, raise your hand and listen.

I can honestly say that I loved being in marching band in high school. There was actually an award created for me called the "I Love Marching Band More Than Life Itself " award.
It was one of those things that people made fun of, but I absolutely loved. I don't know that I can put the feeling into words, but I can say that I always have and always will be a marching band geek.
Former Bluffton resident Lance Jay Pearch, 80, of Cumming, Georgia, died on Sunday, Nov. 22, 2020.
Lance was born in Stone Creek, Ohio, on July 26, 1940, to Donald and Anna (Lab) Pearch. He was a graduate of Findlay College and retired from management at the Ford Motor Co. Engine Plant in Lima after 28 years.
Lance and Karen moved to Cumming to be closer to their children after living in Bluffton for 30 years. Lance was a volunteer to the Lutheran Church, member of the Elks Lodge and an active Bluffton Athletic Booster while his children were in school in Bluffton.
