Plans for the year’s Bluffton Blaze of Lights are underway. This year’s 28th annual Thanksgiving weekend event is Saturday, Nov. 29, using the theme “Happy Holidays!”

The Blaze is an event sponsored by the Bluffton Area Chamber of Commerce. Fred Steiner, chamber director, said, “Most people think of the Blaze as a one-evening event. It’s really the entire holiday season because several events take place until New Years.”
The 2014 BHS homecoming queen and king will be announced tonight at Harmon Field. Senior king candidates from left are: Austin Bricker, Joshua Garmatter and Brady Parkins. Queen candidates from left are: Lauren Parkins, Olivia Sneary and Adel Sommers.
The Bluffton community’s 11th annual Fall Festival, with many family-oriented activities, takes place throughout the community on Saturday, Sept. 27, according to Daren Lee of Mennonite Home Communities of Ohio, who coordinates the festival.
Cory-Rawson students in grades K-3 were given a summer calendar and reading goals to help them practice their reading skills over the summer months.
The top participants were rewarded with a ride on the Union Township-Mt.Cory Fire Truck and were then congratulated by the entire K-4 student body. The middle level of partpicipants recieved a special lunch with a school adult of thier choice. All students received an ice cream party.
The Ebenezer Mennonite Youth are having a pancake breakfast benefit for Missy Bishoff at the Campus Life Building across from the high school on Saturday October 4, 2014 from 8am-11am.
There will be a free will donation and also a cinnamon roll bake sale. Proceeds will go directly to the Bishoff family.
