Once a year Bluffton University schedules a day of seminars led by college professors with a lot of interesting insight to the subjects they teach. The event is called Civic Engagement Day. This year the day took place on April 10.
One of these seminars was hosted by Dr. Darryl Nester a professor of math. He obtained his doctorate in statistics and has also taught many classes training college students how to be more technologically savvy.
The Bluffton-Beaverdam-Richland United Way Budget and Admissions Committee will hold its budget and admissions meeting on the evening of Tuesday, April 23, in the elementary media center, according to Linda Fleming.
"All proposals must be given in person by all agencies listed below. As last year, each agency will be given ten minutes to request funds for next year. If you have any questions, please feel free to contact me," said Fleming.
The Bluffton Area Chamber of Commerce recognized 11 long-time Bluffton business owners and family members during a special meeting April 12 at Maple Crest Senior Living Village.
Eleven persons now residents at various Mennonite Home Communities of Ohio campuses were recognized, according to Fred Steiner, chamber CEO.
Richard Boehr, chamber member, provided a brief explanation of each of the recognized person’s business affiliation and presented each one with a certificate of appreciation.
