The Icon photographer took a new year's afternoon-eve walk in the Motter Metro Park on the edge of Bluffton.

The beauty of the winter landscape is display in several photos in the flip book. The Icon invites viewers to enjoy the photos during new year's eve.

Marion E. "Sam" Shields, 87, of Bluffton, Ohio, formerly of Ida, Mich., died December 26, 2012.

Friends may call at the Capaul Funeral Home, Ida, Wednesday, January 2, 2013, from 11 a.m. to 8 p.m., with a Fireman's Last Call Service that evening.

He will lie in state at Prince of Peace Lutheran Church, Ida, Mich., Thursday, January 3, 2013, from 10 a.m. until services at 11 a.m.. Pastor Ted Kerr will officiate.

Burial will be in Pleasant View Cemetery, Petersburg, Mich.. Graveside services will be under the auspices of the Lynn C. Weeman American Legion Post 514.

The article about Greg Conkling is so true, but not only to the customers but to his employees. I do not have the words to say what a pleasure it was to be his employee. Greg and Edna were not just employers but friends.

Enjoy your retirement, you both deserve it.

Jesse Evilsizer, 2007 Bluffton High School graduate, has been promoted to
lieutenant on the Forest Police Department.  Evilsizer is a graduate of the Rhodes State Police Academy.

Kathryn L. (Patterson) Huston Rosenberger, 85 of Mt. Cory passed away at 11:50 p.m.  Dec. 29, 2012 at Bridge Hospice Care Center, Findlay. 

She was born May 31, 1927 in Leipsic to the late Ray and Alma (Osenbaugh) Peterson.  On June 12, 1946 she married Lloyd E. Huston and he died November 8, 1994.  She then married William Rosenberger August 10, 2003 and he died in December, 2008.
