The Ohio High School Athletic Association released its weekly football computer ratings Tuesday, Oct. 9. The weekly computer ratings are released every Tuesday afternoon beginning after the fourth week of the season, leading up to the final report released on Sunday, Oct. 28. The top eight teams in each region will qualify for the regional quarterfinals.

Two Mennofolk bands return from Columbus to perform at Bluffton’s Town Hall Concert Series, 1t 7 p.m., Saturday, Oct. 13. The performance is on the third floor.

Ron Freeman met Savannah at an open mic three years ago.  Then he convinced her to sing with him and marry him.  In that order. Together they play sporadically in and around their home base of Columbus.

With nearly 70% of their songs mentioning freight trains, their music is an inspired mix of nostalgic Americana and modern independent songwriters.

The churches of Pandora and Gilboa are offering food boxes for households in the Pandora-Gilboa School District. The boxes are designed to provide nine meals for a family of four.

In order to pick up a box, persons must register by 5 p.m. on Monday, Oct. 22, by calling 419-384-3905. Boxes will be available for pickup on Saturday, Oct. 27, at 11 a.m. at the Pandora United Methodist Church, State Route 12.

The Pandora United Methodist Church will host a free community meal on Wednesday, Oct. 31, from 5:30 to 7 p.m. in the church fellowship hall, 108 E. Washington St., Pandora. 

The meal  is provided by the Morning Glory Group and is sausage and sauerkraut, mashed potatoes, green beans, pumpkin cake dessert and beverage.

The Mad River Theater Works will present the musical drama "Anabel" at 7 p.m., Saturday, Oct. 27, in the sanctuary of First Mennonite Church.

The 45-minute musical drama is inspired by true events assembled to create a benefit performacne in honor Anabel Calderon. She is a Mexican-American who lives in Ohio; daughter of Mexican immigrants who travel to the U.S. in search of work.

Through the Mennonite Church and Habitat for Humanity she finds help and support. Mad River Theatre Works is based in West Liberty.

The Bluffton Lions will meet at noon, Tuesday, Oct. 16, in the Patio Room of Maple Crest.  The program is a report on the Corvette raffle that took place on Sept. 29.
