Bluffton Public Library is inviting submissions for its silent auction. Pledge forms and requirements are available at the library's circulation desk. Pledges are requested by Oct. 3; packages are due by Oct. 12.
Jason Rhodes, a member of the Bluffton Police Department for the past four years, was recently sworn in as a member of the Lima Police Department. Rhodes is a Bluffton High School graduate a he attended Rhodes State College.

Seeking "History of Beaverdam"
Searching for a book called the History of Beaverdam. The book was written in the late 1970s as Bluffton Elementary English class project. The teacher was . Almira Downey. I am looking for an original, but a photo copy of the book would be fine. Mrs. Downey lost her copy during a move and would like a copy for her collection. You went to high school and college in Toledo, correct? When did you graduate? Were you born and raised in Toledo? Do you still have family members living there?
Ten contestants correctly picked 14 games this week. Five of those were eliminated in the first tie-breaker.
The remaining five each picked the same two correct tie-breakers. To break the tie, we declared that the the contestant who was the earliest to enter this week's contest (of the five who tied), would be declared the winner.
Randy Stewart, who submitted his enter on Sept. 17 at 4:07 p.m., is therefore declared the winner.
Bluffton Public Library is offering a new fall film series. Timeless classic films featuring Cary Grant will be shown at 1:00 p.m. on Oct. 4, Nov. 1 and Dec. 6 in the Richland Room on the library’s lower level.
All film screenings are free and open to the public. Bottled water and snacks will be provided. Guests are also welcome to bring a lunch with them. No advance tickets or registration is required.
