Hesston College and First Mennonite Church will partner to host Common Threads: Anabaptist and African American Songs and Stories of Suffering and Hope at 6 p.m. Sunday, April 15. The event is free and open to the public, though a free-will offering will be received to cover program costs.

Common Threads is a program of story and song that features current Hesston College faculty members Tony Brown, John Sharp and Ken Rodgers. They will give voice to Anabaptist martyrs and enslaved African Americans by singing their hymns and telling their stories.

The Easter Bunny is coming to Bluffton.

The Mennonite Memorial Home and Jerry Lewis' McDonald's host their annual Easter egg hunt at 10 a.m. sharp, Saturday, March 31, at the Mennonite Memorial Home, 410 W. Elm St., Bluffton.

Children ages 8 and under are invited to come, hunt for hidden eggs, register for prizes, gift baskets and have their parents taken their pictures with the Easter Bunny.

The event takes place rain or shine, freezing or otherwise.

Doughnuts are donated by Community Markets and hot beverages will be provided.

Tony Hall hasn't forgotten Mother Teresa's words when they first met in Calcutta, India, late in the acclaimed nun's life.

"Not everybody can come to Calcutta like you can," the Nobel Peace Prize winner told the then-Ohio congressman, "but remember this, do the thing that's in front of you."

The month of April has been designated Sexual Assault Awareness Month in the United States. The goal of Sexual Assault Awareness Month is to raise public awareness about sexual violence and to educate communities and individuals on how to prevent sexual violence.

This April communities across the country are proclaiming "It's time ... to talk about it!" Let's be honest, "it" is not an easy subject to talk about.
