The Ohio Northern University Astronomy Club will host a star party at the ONU Observatory on Friday, Dec. 2, from 8:30-10:30 p.m.

At the star party, attendees will look for the moon, Jupiter, the Pleiades star cluster and the Andromeda Galaxy.

This event is free and open to the public.

In the event of cloudy or unfavorable atmospheric conditions, the event will be canceled. Please consult the observatory website for news on future viewing dates and possible cancellations and to view maps of the observatory.

Bluffton Public Library will be closed from Dec. 23-26 in observance of Christmas. The library will reopen on Tuesday, Dec. 27, at 9:30 a.m.

In addition, the library will also be closed from Dec. 31-Jan. 2 in observance of the New Year's Day holiday. The library will reopen on Tuesday, Jan. 3, at 9:30 a.m.

Due dates for library materials will be adjusted accordingly.

The Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference recently announced the fall honorees of the HCAC All-Academic awards for the 2011-12 school year.

Twenty Bluffton University athletes were recognized for their efforts in the classroom. Women's soccer and volleyball led the way for the Beavers with seven and four honorees, respectively.

Edith Meyer

Edith Donna Dee Meyer, 82, of Bluffton died at 9:20 a.m. on Wednesday,
Nov. 30, 2011 at The Heritage. She was born May 10, 1929, in
Spencerville to Pearl Daniel and Olga Wyona (Robey) Harter, who preceded
her in death. On April 30,1947, she married Donald Joseph Meyer, who died
on Feb. 1, 2000.

Main Street Bluffton's newest business, Sielschott, Walsh, Keifer & Regula CPAs, Inc., will hold a grand opening and open house from 8 to 9:30 a.m., Thursday, Dec. 1. The public is invited.

A Bluffton Area Chamber of Commerce ribbon cutting will take place at 9:30 a.m.

The Lima-based CPA firm is located in the former Little Red Barn, 113 N. Main St. The Little Red Barn flower shop has relocated.
