(VAN BUREN) - It's three road games and three wins for the Bluffton boys' basketball team. Junior Mason Soper ripped a steal and made the game winning bucket at the buzzer pushing Bluffton to a thrilling 57-55 victory at Van Buren! Bluffton improved to 3-0 on the season and finally gets a home game against reigning conference champion Crestview Friday night.
The Bluffton Icon named Jean Ann Szabo, 91, resident of Maple Crest, recipient of the Icon’s Zuzu’s Petals Award.
The award comes following the Icon’s invitation to viewers to nominate who they believe is Bluffton’s greatest musician, or modestly put, a great musician who well-deserves the recognition.
This year’s recognition comes following the Icon’s free showing of “It’s a Wonderful Life,” at the Shannon Theatre on Nov. 23.

Senior Isaac Zickafoose (Middlebury, Ind./Northridge) has been named Second Team All-America by the American Football Coaches Association following a 2018 campaign when he earned his second HCAC Defensive Player of the Year award. It marked the fourth time in five years that a Beaver defensive end has secured the top honor in the HCAC. He is the first Bluffton football player since Ryan Aelker in 2015 to earn All-America honors.

Ohio Department of Transportation (ODOT) announced this week that it plans to rehabilitate rather than remove the bridges on Interstate 75, just north of State Route 103, outside of Bluffton.
The announcement was made in a letter to stakeholders in the project, which included the Village of Bluffton.
Rhodes State College will host its annual Career Day on Friday, Dec. 14, from 9:50 a.m. – noon. This year, over 1,592 students from 32 area high schools are planning to be on campus.
Career Day is an annual half-day event that offers 11th grade students in northwest Ohio an opportunity to explore college and career-related sessions of personal interest.
