The Pandora United Methodist Church will host a free Community Meal on Wednesday,  Dec.12, from 5:30 to 7 p.m. in the church fellowship hall, 108 E. Washington St., Pandora. 

The meal this month is provided by Riley Creek Pharmacy. The menu is Shredded chicken sandwich/sloppy joe, cheesy potatoes, cookies, beverage. Santa will visit at 6 p.m. and crafts will be provided by First National Bank of Pandora.

Quarry Farm mugs created by Brandon Knott are now available to purchase. The mugs are $20 each and are glazes in a variety of colors. Each includes a sculpted “cookie” on the front.

Persons who have attended events at the Quarry Farm know that cookies are always part of every event.

Details on ordering a mug may be found in the Farm newsletter, attached at the bottom of this story. The newsletter also lists all winter programming for the Farm. It is located at 14321 Road 7L, Pandora, OH 45877.

Bluffton Family Recreation reminds Icon viewers of four school day out camps later this month, according to Daniel Tinch, BFR executive director.

December camp days are Friday, Dec. 21, and Wednesday, Thursday and Friday, Dec. 26-27-28.

Camp hours are 7:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. and camps are open to youth ages 5 to 12.

Youth may sign up for one day or for the entire break. Single day cost is $15 per day for members and $30 per day for program participants. Or, five days for $60 (members), and $120 (program participants).

Proposal would focus on Buckeye park

The Village of Bluffton has applied for a $12,000 grant through the Johnny Appleseed Cooperative Park Improvement Grant Program, according to Jesse Blackburn, village administrator.

The request is to replace the existing swing set and add other playground and recreational equipment to the playground area at the Buckeye park.

A review team meeting is Wednesday, Dec. 12 at the park district office, Lima.

The Villagee had received over $25,000 from this funding sourse since 2016, Blackburn told Bluffton council members on Monday.

Newest staff member of Faith Investment Services, also achieved financial planning certificate

Orrie Augsburger, the newest addition to the staff of Faith Investment Services, graduated in October with a Bachelor's of Science in Business from University of Phoenix.

He also achieved a certificate in Financial Planning. Augsburger will be assisting with serving clients in our Faith Investment Services renovated office at 101 N. Main Street rear, behind “Wonderfully Made” Boutique.

The choir of St. John's United Church of Christ will present the cantata, "The Glory of Christmas," by composer Lloyd Larson, on Sunday, Dec. 16, at 10:30 a.m. 

The choir is under the direction of Dr. Crystal Sellers-Battle, associate professor and chair of the Bluffton University music department.  All are welcome to attend.  The church is located at 223 W. College Ave., Bluffton.
