Professional development coach speaks at university

Brandon Simmons, professional speaker and development coach with Simmons Development group, will speak during a Bluffton University Forum at 11 a.m. on Nov. 20 in Yoder Recital Hall. The title of his presentation is “The Game and Beyond: Learn the Game, Play the Game, Win the Game.”

The former Division I football player with Bucknell University will share his journey from a challenging childhood to professional success as a collegiate athlete, coach, corporate leader and speaker.

This event is free and open to the public.

It's a mid-term election and already over 550 voters cast ballots by 11 a.m. today. Here's the scene at Bluffton elementary polling location. Polls are open until 7:30 p.m.

Crimson Lane is in Ada's backyard; open house attracts several hundred on Sunday

Hundreds of people attended the open house for Crimson Lane wedding and event center on Saturday afternoon. The new multimillion dollar facility is a dream come true for brides and grooms...and for the owners, Mike and Jody Willeke.

Incredibly, 45 weddings already have been booked. The Willekes did their homework, determining that a weddings venue is needed in the area. Shortly after construction began last spring, future brides began to reserve dates for their dream wedding at Crimson Lane.

The driver with this plate is an LA Dodgers fan. The Icon spotted it on a black GT, but we can't recall if it was in Bluffton or Ada. Maybe a viewer can help us out.

At its fall meeting, the Bluffton University board of trustees voted to move forward with the remediation and demolition of Lincoln Hall in late December 2018 to early January 2019. The central campus location is the site for the planned Austin E. Knowlton Science Center. For more details click here.
