Stackhouse, Miller each win 3 events

COLUMBUS GROVE – On Friday, May 16, the Bluffton High School boys track and field team won the Northwest Conference championship meet at Columbus Grove, while the Pirate girls finished a strong second.

The Pirate boys scored 188 points, 23 points ahead of second-place meet host Grove (165).

Spencerville came in a distant third with 91 points, followed by Crestview (70), Lincolnview (69), Allen East (41), Delphos Jefferson (21) and LCC (6).

Lois Elaine Adams, 80, passed away May 15, 2025, at the Bridge Hospice Care Center, in Findlay. 

Lois was born September 6, 1944 in Lima, to John and Della (Brenneman) Hartman who preceded her in death.

Lois graduated from Bath High School in 1964. After graduation, Lois enlisted in the United States Army for 12 years. She had later managed numerous gas stations and retired from PlastiPak. She attended Ebenezer Mennonite Church. She could typically be found reading a book and always valued spending time with loved ones.

BLUFFTON - The Bluffton High School baseball team shut out visiting Leipsic 3-0 on a warm Friday evening, May 16.

Bluffton High School celebrated the Forty-Fifth Annual Academic Awards Program on May 6 in the Middle School Cafetorium.

The following program provides an overview of the students, faculty, administrators and scholarship providers that were part of the presentations.

Hayley Burke, an incoming student at Bluffton University, has been awarded the university’s Austin E. Knowlton Memorial Scholarship, valued at more than $16,000 over four years.

Burke, of Mt. Vernon, Ohio, is the daughter of Jon and Kelly Burke and will graduate from Mount Vernon High School this year. She volunteers and is active in 4H, the National Honors Society, the Mount Vernon High School women’s varsity basketball team and at her church The Church at Chapel Hill.
