The wins keep piling up for the Bluffton High School volleyball team. The Pirates defeated Spencerville on the road on Sept. 18 3-2.

Dr. David K. Klassen, M.D., has been selected as Chief Medical Officer of United Network for Organ Sharing. UNOS matches donated organs with transplant candidates nationwide and manages the national transplant database through contract with the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services.

“David is one of the most respected transplant professionals in the country," said OPTN/UNOS President Carl Berg, M.D. "He’s cared for many kidney transplant patients over the years. Now, he’ll contribute to the health and safety of all who need a transplant.”

Bluffton won the Northwest Conference golf tournament in an 18-hole tournament played at Colonial Golf Club.  The first-place tournament finish also clinched the overall 2014 conference golf championship for the Pirates.

The Bluffton High School class of 1969 met for their 45th reunion at the Bluffton Middle School on Sept. 13. Twenty-six classmates attended.  Those in the picture are:

BFR Sports and Fitness will host a one-day show of craft vendors and home business consultants from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday, September 27, as a part of Bluffton's Fall Festival Day. There is a $1 admission fee, which will help to offset BFR's operations costs.

Anna Sneary, member of the Bluffton High School flag corp, helps in the marching band's halftime presentation of "Wicked." The band performed at Harmon Field for the first time last Friday. This week BHS is on the road.
