Ralph Carmichael, 90, died on Thursday, July 10, 2014, at Shady Lawn Retirement Community in Dalton, Ohio.
Ralph was born in Hull, England, on May 1, 1924, to Gladys and Harry Carmichael. During WWII, he served in the 2nd. Battalion of the West Yorkshire Regiment of the British Army in India. His regiment fought in the Battle of Imphal in Northern India with the 14th. Army. He also served in Penang, Malaya, before returning to England after the war with the rank of Sergeant.
One of today’s most well-known Christian bands, Unspoken, performs in concert at Pandora Missionary Church Sunday, Sept. 21, at 7 p.m.
Tickets are $12 in advance or $15 at the door. VIP passes for a meet and greet with the band, photos, autographs, and refreshments are an additional $5.

The Bluffton Area Ministerial Association will hold its community worship service at 9 a.m., Sunday, July 27, in the Bluffton Presbyterian Church lawn. In the event if rain, the service takes place in the Middle School cafetorium. Persons are invited to bring lawn chairs or a blanket to the service.
Don't mess with the Bluffton Sardines swim team. They finished the 2014 swim season with an impressive fourth place in the eight-team Western Ohio Aquatics League meet held in Kenton on Friday and Saturday.

Originally from Sugarcreek, he enrolled at Bluffton College in 1953. He took off a couple years to volunteer in PAX. Then he returned to graduate in 1960.
