Judy Augsburger recently became the first woman mayor of Bluffton. Without studying the photo, can you name the first woman elected to the Bluffton school board? It was Lois Rodabaugh. She was president of the school board when this photo was taken.

Here is the Bluffton Exempted Village School board of education during the 1967-68 school year.

It's strawberry season in rural Bluffton.

The juicy red fruits are being picked at Suter's Produce, Pandora. Genesis Hefner of Lima, shows the 'berries she picked on Tuesday. U-Pick at Suter's field on Bixel Road opens at 7 a.m.

U-pick hours are Mondays through Fridays from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. and Saturdays, 7 a.m. to 5 p.m., depending upon availability of strawberries, according to Jerry Suter.

The red barn stands are now open at Cable Road, Lima, Ottawa, and both Findlay stands. All open at 10 a.m. each morning.

Bluffton Bambi Chapter 2:

On Sunday the Icon posted a photo of a new-born fawn discovered in an unnamed Bluffton location, which was near a familiar neighborhood. In that story we revealed that Bambi was alone, and curled up in some greenery.

We concluded that:

1 - Bambi was an orphan, or
2 - Bambi's mother left the fawn with plans to return later.

The churches of Pandora and Gilboa are offering food boxes for households in the Pandora-Gilboa School District. The boxes are designed to provide nine meals for a family of four.

In order to pick up a box, you must register by calling 419-384-3038 by 5 p.m. on June 15th. Boxes will be available to be picked up on Saturday June 28 at 11 a.m. at the Grace Mennonite Church, 502 East Main Street, Pandora.

The Icon posted a story about this darling little fawn on Sunday. Now we understand there's more to the story, which includes a ride a Bluffton police cruiser. And, there's a happy ending. Read the story below for all the details.
