To date, 41 persons have pledged 111 hours of community service in Bluffton thanks to First National Bank's Kasasa Gift-for-Good Event.
This month FNB invites area residents to do a good deed and receive a free gift certificate, courtesy of Kasasa, its rewards checking account partner. You probably saw the bank's booth at the Blaze.
Using a book as a metaphor, you could say that the final chapter of Cindy Chasse’s story as director of Bluffton Public Library concluded on Saturday.
Chasse’s last day as director of the Bluffton Public Library was Saturday, although technically she retires on Dec. 21. She held the position since September 2009.
During Chasse’s four years as director, the Bluffton Public Library survived significant budget cuts from the state. To counter those cuts Chasse developed several fundraisers to create awareness of the library’s financial needs to its patrons.

The Swiss Community Historical Society is celebrating the Christmas season by hosting its annual holiday open house, “Christmas at the Homestead,” on Saturday, Dec. 14, from 1 to 7 p.m.
The public is invited to tour the decorated house while snacking on homemade treats and listening to songs of the season.
