The Mennonite Memorial Home Service Group will hold a Friday, Nov. 22, bake sale from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. at MMH, 410 W. Elm St., Bluffton.

The bake sale will be in the MMH lobby.

 

Construction at the corner of Main and College have the attention of Bluffton residents. Roof work is next for the addition to the Fred and Pat Rodabaugh addition.

Several students teacher assignments will be acted upon at Monday’s November school board meeting, according to Greg Denecker, superintendent.

Those include the following Ohio Northern University students from Jan. 21 through May 2:
• Kayle Gorenfio, with Dave Sycks
• Spencer Genson with Kevin King,
• Blade Tacket with Pamela Riffle
• Tony Rader with Scott Huff
• Hillard Crawford with Jackie Bourassa

Downtown Bluffton is starting to take on that holiday appearance. On Saturday members of the Bluffton fire department hung Christmas garland.

Seven days earlier the Ream holiday folk art display was placed on the Bluffton Presbyterian Church lawn.

The next holiday preparation is downtown Bluffton business windows.

For the third year, the Bluffton Area Chamber of Commerce offers downtown businesses a chance to win a “traveling trophy” for the next 12 months, based upon their holiday retail window display.

Eleanor Judith Hillemann, 94, died Friday, Oct. 25, 2013, at Hilty Memorial Home, Pandora. She was born on March 18, 1919, at Bluff Dale Ranch near Almont, N.D. Her parents, Emelie Sorum Pederson, and Jonathan Pederson, were homesteaders and the children of Norwegian immigrants. She was the fourth of six daughters.

The Bluffton Senior Citizens Center will be open all day for shoppers on Saturday, Nov. 30, during the Blaze of Lights, 

The center will serve its soup and sandwich supper starting at 4 p.m. The menu includes soups, sandwiches, homemade pies, peanut butter bards and hicory nut cake and drinks.

Following the Blaze parade,Santa and Mrs. Claus will be. at the Senior Center.
