The following are babies born at Bluffton Hospital from May 7 through July 2:

May 7 - Eden Elizabeth Hagen, daughter of Lorren Welch and Timothy Hagen, 6 pounds and 11 ounces, 19 inches long.

May 9 - Simon James Phillips, son of Carrie and Steve Phillips, 8 pounds and seven ounces, 20 inches long.

May 10- Eimaniegh Chanel Sergent, daughter of Alexandra Guerra and Justin Sergent, 6 pounds and 5 ounces, 20 inches long.

Marlin Gerber will have 10 pound boxes of Michigan blueberries available in Bluffton on Monday, July 15,  at 12:30 p.m.

Gerber said that there are about six rounding quarts of berries in 10 pounds and the cost is $25.  Orders of four or more boxes cost $23 each.

E-mail orders at [email protected] with a subject line: "Bluffton Blueberries."  Orders may be picked up in the parking area behind Bluffton University’s Houshower House between 12:30 and 2 p.m. on July 15.

Mary Hofstetter knots a comforter at the Bluffton Senior Citizens Center. The 74-inch-square  project is a crazy quilt design comprised of pieces of material from former Bluffton resident Rick Shaner's mother. 

Lois Arlene Geiser, 73, died July 4, 2013, at home with her family. She was born Oct. 16, 1939, in Bluffton to Sidney and Thelma (Wingate) Balmer, who preceded her in death. She married Ron Geiser July 1, 1961, and he survives.

Also surviving are sons Jon (Sara), Byron, Mich., and Deron (Michele), Bluffton, and daughter Kamala (Eric) Renick, Cincinnati. Grandchildren are Sam, Shane and Zac Geiser, Byron, Mich.; Kristi and Jaret Geiser, Bluffton; and Sydney and Ethan Renick, Cincinnati.

Children ages 4, 5 and 6 are welcome to participate in four additional BFR Sports and Fitness Adventure Camp dates this summer, according to Carole Enneking, BFR director. 

Adventure Camp is a 1 ½ hour program held on selected Thursdays that includes crafts, physical activities and games, plus snack. Pre-registration is required for each date. Contact BFR by Tuesday prior to the camp date.

Adventure Camp runs from 9-10:30 a.m. on July 18 (Pajama Party) and Aug. 1 (Disney). Cost for each day is $12 ($8 BFR).
